Towards the Future

Design Research Institute

The Pan-Pacific Design Research Institute was established in 2015 in order to take the big leap to becoming an ODM, beyond OEM. Since establishment, the institute has dedicated its efforts to predicting upcoming design trends in the fashion market, as well as research and development of materials with trend-sensitive designs and price competitiveness.
Furthermore, the institute analyzes body shape by race and age; and considers buyer-specific patterns to make technological offers which satisfy both B2B and B2C customers.

Design R&D

Analysis of design trends by season and color, and intra-departmental sharing of the results have maximized Pan-Pacific's competitiveness. Creative design convergence across separate product lines has promoted innovation and helped us achieve customer satisfaction.

Material R&D

We strive not only in the research of tried-and-true fabrics and materials, but in the development of new materials as well. These efforts have led to the development of state-of-the-art patterns, reductions in cost, and increases in functionality.

Technical R&D

R&D based on 40 years' technical design data enables us to offer advanced patterns that satisfy our buyers and their end customers alike. We aim to continue to produce breakthrough innovation via a convergent thinking - where technology is design and design is technology.

Fabric library

As of March 2016, the Pan-Pacific Fabric Library, or PFL for short, houses nearly 32,000 material samples. The PFL is run by a material-integrated operating system in order to offer buyers the best materials per item. In particular, the PFL works with the SAP to implement an integrated management of materials, partners, and supply chains. This integrated system adds to our sensitivity to trends and buyers' needs, and creates a synergy effect in our producing power due to its exceptional searching, sorting, and materials assessment capabilities.

Snail Yard

Snail Yard was inspired by the image of snails in an incubator, growing like the ideas in our design and materials R&D. Unlike the clich?d showrooms of other companies, Pan-Pacific has employed a black-and-white base to the spatial construction in order to make our sample products prominent. The Snail Yard is a library-like showroom housing nearly 6,000 samples both internally produced and in-market (as of March 2016), and is a point of pride for Pan-Pacific.
